Four weeks in, I can’t believe it has been a month. Overall I’m doing wonderful, though I’m a little frustrated with my weight. I’m following the program, I know what I’m eating and burning thanks to the Bodybugg I wrote about yesterday, yet I’m on a plateau.

Three weeks in, 49 more to go. I’m doing awesome! I think the weekly accountability is helpful, so I’m considering continuing with the weekly updates. I’d mentioned dropping back to monthly after kicking it off, but I think I’ve changed my mind on that point. This week is another success!

Last year we were going through some financial stress and decided we should attend Financial Peace University to learn how to take care of our problems for good. We’ve learned a lot, and met some wonderful people, and have a whole new outlook on personal (and business) finance.

Its been two weeks now since I posted my personal goals for the new year. I’m feeling great about it! So far I’ve met every goal except TV viewing this week (which I’m not worried about, see my specific notes) and am on-track for my long term weight loss goal. There is still room for [...]

Today we sat down and did our budget for January. A few bills had changed by a few dollars a month, some up and some down. We also wanted to see if we could move our last regular bill from our “working” checking account to our “bills” checking account. Survey says…. Yes! In the process [...]

My former employer, MPC Computers (formerly known as Zeos, Micron Computer Services, Micron Electronics, MicronPC.com, and MicronPC) announced today that Chapter 11 reorganization efforts were unsuccessful and they are letting 150 employees go effective immediately. A small handfull will be sticking around for an unknown length of time to tie up lose ends. Best wishes [...]

Lifehacker (among others) informed me of a deal I had to jump on. Staples ran a “today only” special today where you can buy Quickbooks Pro 2009 for $160, and get a $160 rebate. Normally this is a $200 product. I currently use the free Quickbooks Simple Start version but it is missing a couple [...]

No, this isn’t some spam post. A while back I signed up to take some online surveys every now and then. I probably average 1-2 a month, and they average about 5 minutes each. Each survey pays some amount if you qualify, some as low as $.50 and some as much as $15. It had [...]
